Hyderabad: Telangana Council of Higher Education Chairman Prof V Balakista Reddy urged students and their parents to be vigilant against fake colleges running in the State. He warned that enrolling in unrecognised institutions could lead to serious academic and legal consequences.
Speaking to presspersons, Prof Reddy said the Council has received several complaints against private entities, including ByteXL TechEd Pvt Ltd., Leapstart School of Technology, and Intellipaat School of Technology. Notices have already been served to these institutions for allegedly offering unauthorised BTech programmes such as CSE and AIML, besides publishing misleading brochures, he said.
The TGCHE has also identified that these entities have signed MoUs with some deemed-to-be universities in the State and have been admitting between 300 to 1,200 students, charging Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh per seat, he said
Emphasising that running off-campus centres by deemed-to-be universities is illegal, Prof Reddy said action will be taken based on responses received to the issued notices. He urged students and parents not to rush into admissions in such institutions.
