TGEJAC to stage protests in support of their demands

Government employees are gearing up to stage protests in support of their 51 demands beginning from October 28 to January 30 across the State

Hyderabad: After unemployed youth, farmers and contract employees, now government employees are gearing up to stage protests in support of their 51 demands beginning from October 28 to January 30 across the State.

To this effect, the Telangana Employees, Gazetted Officers, Teachers, Workers and Pensioners Joint Action Committee (TGEJAC) demanded the State government to address their demands, especially six demands.


TGEJAC Secretary General E Sreenivasa Rao said the employees have been demanding payment of five Das that were pending since July 1, 2022. All the pending bills should be cleared and E-Kuber system should be scrapped and the bills should be cleared through treasury department as done in the past.

As the discussions with all the employees associations have been completed, the State government should declare 51 percent fitment for the employees. The Old Pension System should be implemented and the Contributory Pension system should be scrapped.

The employees would be staging protests while attending their duties or after duty hours. On October 28, action letter would be presented to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari. On November 2 action letters would be submitted to District Collectors through mass rallies, said Sreenivasa Rao.

This would be followed with submission of petitions to the elected public representatives through rallies on November 4 and 5. Similarly, district level meetings would be conducted from November 7 to December 27. On January 3 and 4, employees would be attending duties sporting black badges and lunch hour demonstrations. On January 30, formation of human chains programmes would be held across the State, he said, adding that people should understand our issues.
