TGMC raids clinics: 5 quacks caught prescribing allopathy in Amberpet and Saroornagar
Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has identified five unqualified practitioners running clinics in Hyderabad’s Amberpet and Saroornagar. These individuals, holding non-MBBS degrees, were found prescribing allopathic medicines and administering injections illegally.
Hyderabad: The inspecting teams of Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) have detected a total of 5 quacks (unqualified medical practitioners) who were operating clinics and providing allopathy prescriptions to vulnerable patients in Amberpet and Saroornagar.
The inspections, which were carried out by TGMC Vice Chairman, Dr G Srinivas and Vigilance Officer, Dr Rakesh on Friday, indicated that the quacks without MBBS qualifications were prescribing allopathic treatments and administering antibiotics, painkillers and steroid injections.
“Such illegal practice severely endangers public health causing kidney failure and increases antimicrobial resistances. We will file cases against them under NMC and TGMC Acts. Our fight against such illegal centres will continue,” Dr Srinivas said.
The clinics and quacks detected in Amberpet area include Sri Srinivasa Medical and General Store and Clinic operated by C. Mohan Reddy (B.Sc.), Prem Sai Clinic, run by P.U.N. Reddy (BHMS) and Sai Saketh Clinic, operated by K. Srinivas (BAMS).
In Saroornagar, the inspections uncovered the Sree Venkateshwara Clinic, run by Naveen (B.Sc.), and K.S.R Speciality Clinic, operated by V. Kalidas (M.Sc.).
“These five individuals including C. Mohan Reddy, P.U.N. Reddy, K. Srinivas, Naveen, and V. Kalidas were found to be practicing allopathy without the necessary qualifications,” TGMC said.
