TGSPDCL makes arrangements for uninterrupted power supply for Ganesh immersion
About three 500 KVA transformers, 31 315 KV A and 37 160 KVA transformers had been installed to provide continuous power to all the Ganesh mandaps in the city, said TGSPDCL MD
Hyderabad: Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Ali Faruqui said the company had made appropriate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Ganesh idol immersion scheduled to be held on September 17.
Musharraf, who inaugurated the NTR Marg and Tank Bund Control Room established in Hussain Sagar vicinity, the main area where Ganesh idols immersion takes place on Friday, said about three 500 KVA transformers, 31 315 KV A and 37 160 KVA transformers had been installed to provide continuous power to all the Ganesh mandaps in the city.
Apart from this about 55 km of 11 kv/LT cable, poles and conductors had been installed, he added.
“The Superintending Engineers and Divisional Engineers have thoroughly inspected the mandapams where the idols are installed, the streets where the idols will be paraded, the roads, road crossings, rectification of loose wires, earthing at transformers, insulation where necessary, iron pillars, PVC pipes where there are fuse boxes,”he said.
In addition to the special control rooms set up by the electricity department, the electricity officers and staff would be available in the joint control rooms set up by the police department, he said, adding that in case of any untoward situation, people should contact the nearest power department control room or call 100 / 1912.
