Hyderabad: Thieves broke into the Sri Ranganayaka Swamy temple at Yamnampet village in Pocharam mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district and decamped with cash from the collection box in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police said unidentified persons entered the compound and broke open the collection box placed in front of the deity and stole the cash. Temple authorities who noticed the damaged box in the morning alerted the cops, who are examining footage from surveillance cameras in the surroundings.
A case has been booked and is being investigated.
