Hyderabad: In sharp contrast to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s statement in the Assembly that there were no wild animals in the 400 acres at Kancha Gachibowli, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday admitted that there were deer and peacocks in the region.

“There could be peacocks in Union Minister G Kishan Reddy’s residence in New Delhi as well. In the 400 acres, there was movement of deer and peacocks but those were not disturbed by bulldozers as being claimed by opposition parties,” the TPCC president at a press conference here.

Officials had cleared bushes and small trees in the lands using excavators. Unfortunately, Prime Minister Narendra Modi got influenced with the false campaign conducted using AI generated images and videos that wild animals were being bulldozed from the lands, he alleged, claiming that it was a government land and to expedite works, many excavators were deployed.

Also claiming that the Congress party accorded top priority to environment conservation, Goud said the State government would adhere to the Supreme Court directions on the Kancha Gachibowli issue.

Alleging that BRS working president KT Rama Rao was “misinterpreting” the apex court’s “observations”, Goud claimed that the court had sought only a few clarifications and had not delivered the final verdict. The government was planning to set up an IT park in the 400 acres at Kancha Gachibowli to generate five lakh jobs but the BRS was unable to stomach such development, he alleged.
