Hyderabad: Pooja Aakanksha Reddy a Kuchipudi dancer and a disciple of Guru Deepika Reddy — Sangeeta Natak Akademi awardee, performed on the last day of National Dance Festival ‘Udvigna’, which concluded on a grand note at Ravindra Bharathi.
The three-day festival saw many dignitaries as guests and pan India artistes presented their traditional dances on the colourful stage proudly.
Pooja Aakanksha Reddy too presented three items of Kuchipudi dance along with her troupe gracefully. All the items were specially choreographed by the reputed Guru. The items were presented brilliantly.
Pooja Reddy a multifaceted woman has toured a number of places in the country and abroad along with her guru and received accolades for her dancing excellence. She is specifically accoladed for her ‘Nritta’. She performed in many prestigious events and major Dance Festivals worldwide.
Pooja’s performance began with Kuchipudi’s traditional ‘Vijaya Ganapathi’ (group) followed by the specially composed Annamacharya’s solo item ‘Chakkani Talliki Changu Bhala’ where Pooja mesmerised the audience with her eye-catching abhinaya and the last and final group item ‘Takkuvemi Manku Ramudu Okkadundu Varaku’ a composition of Bhadrachala Ramadasu, stood as one of the highlights which imaginatively featured the Dasavataras.
All the items presented were vibrantly done with precise laya synchronisation and perfect alignment of hand and leg movements. The choreography and the coordination between all the dancers was superb. And one could make out easily, the years of practice behind the artistes.
