Mancherial: Banoth Vanaja, a tribal woman from remote Lingapur village in Dandepalli mandal cracked a post in Group I services, bringing recognition to her parents.
Vanaja bagged the post by securing the 38th rank in the State and the first rank in erstwhile Adilabad district. She registered 504.5 marks out of the total 900 marks in the examinations held as part of the recruitment of various posts under Group I service. She is the daughter of farmer Dasharath and homemaker Lalitha.
Vanaja, who aspires to become a civil servant, attributed her success to her perseverance and unwavering support from her parents. She had schooled in Dandepalli before completing intermediate with the help of scholarship extended by Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA)-Utnoor and graduated from Kakatiya University before undergoing coaching at ST study circle in order to appear for civil services examinations for 3 years.
Vanaja was selected as junior lecturer by excelling in an examination held by TGPSC. She assumed charge of lecturer at a college in Warangal a week back. She was already selected as commercial tax officer as she excelled in Group II service. She topped the ST category in the results of the examination. She was congratulated by villagers for cracking the Group I service.
Meanwhile, Bandi Amarender from Dobhi colony in Adilabad town shined in the results of the examination of the service. He scored 478.5 marks and got the 149th rank in the state. He is currently working as assistant engineer with NPDCL. His father is a head constable, while mother is a homemaker.
