Sangareddy: District Tribal Welfare Officer Neelima served notices to the hostel warden and headmaster of the tribal welfare residential school in Narayankhed after inmates staged a protest, blocked the road and accused the management of violating the prescribed menu and serving poor quality food.
The officer, along with the Narayankhed Tahsildar, visited the hostel hours after the students’ protest. They tasted the food and claimed it was healthy and palatable. However, the officials observed that certain items listed on the menu were not being provided by the management.
The officials also issued notices to the food safety committee after finding that food was being served to students before being tasted by the committee each day, as mandated.
