Hyderabad: Public Undertakings Committee chairman and MLA A Jeevan Reddy on Tuesday came down heavily on the BJP State leaders for triggering violence in erstwhile Nalgonda district, during the two-day tour of their party State president Bandi Sanjay. He said the TRS will not tolerate the BJP’s violence and communal politics in the State.

He demanded that Bandi Sanjay and other BJP leaders should tour the State only after getting the Centre to announce that entire paddy produced during Yasangi season, would be purchased by the Centre. “Just like they did in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. the BJP leaders are resorting to violence against farmers for demanding that the Centre should immediately assure to procure entire paddy. They are behaving like hooligans and pelting stones at farmers and TRS activists,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons at TRS Legislative Party office here, Jeevan Reddy said the State government had already procured paddy worth Rs 1,800 crore for the current season and would continue to procure further. He demanded that the BJP leaders should stop misleading farmers and should convince the Centre to purchase the paddy for Yasangi season. Unless the BJP leaders do not change their attitude, he cautioned that farmers along with TRS activists will continue to obstruct them across the State.
