Adilabad: Various sections of the society planted saplings as part of Koti Vriksharchana, an initiative aimed at planting one crore saplings to mark the birthday of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao across erstwhile Adilabad district on Wednesday.
In Adilabad, MLA Jogu Ramanna planted saplings on the premises of the office of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), his camp office and a government junior college of the town. He praised the Chief Minister for conceiving outstanding schemes and developmental programmes. He said that Rao had spearheaded the Telangana movement and played a vital role in the creation of a separate State.
Meanwhile, Mancherial MLA Nadipelli Diwakar Rao took part in the programme by planting saplings on the premises of Deputy Commissioner of Police office and at the camp office of the legislator. He then planted saplings at 13th battalion of Telangana State Special Police at Gudipet village in Hajipur mandal. He was joined by Collector Bharati Hollikeri and municipal chairperson P Rajaiah.
Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts witnessed similar widespread plantation activity. Local legislators A Rekha Naik, G Vittal Reddy, Athram Sakku and Koneru Konappa participated in the event. Konappa said that everyone should play a crucial role in protecting the saplings. Officials of various departments, voluntary organisations, members of rice miller association, professionals took part in the plantation and conveyed wishes to Chandrasekhar Rao. Leaders of TRS party cut cakes and organised Annadhanams and distributed fruits to patients of government-run hospitals in view of the birthday of the Chief Minister.
Health camp evokes good response
Mancherial: Balka Foundation, a voluntary organisation, organised a mega health camp to mark the birthday of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Ramakrishnapur town on Wednesday. The camp evoked good response with nearly 1,000 persons utilising the services.
As many as 950 persons belonging to different parts of Ramakrishnapur town and surrounding villages made a beeline to the camp and availed medical services rendered by 20 specialist doctors. They expressed gratitude to the foundation for conducting the programme and for coming to their rescue.
Pulluri Sudhakar, who coordinated the event, said that about 20 medical services relating to cardiology, nephrology, ECG, general medicine, etc, were offered to the needy at the camp. He thanked the doctors who came forward to render the services. He expressed gratitude to Kyathanpalli municipal chairperson Jangal Kala and commissioner G Venkat Narayana for inaugurating the programme.
Sub-Inspector K Ravi Prasad, TRS leaders Abdul Azeej, Gandla Sammaiah, K Sudarshan Goud, Yakub Ali, B Narasinga Rao, Mamidi Kumar, several councillors and many others were present.
