TRS victory in Huzurabad certain: Talasani
Huzurabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday exuded confidence that the outcome of the Huzurabad by-poll would be a repeat of the Nagarjunasagar Assembly constituency result. “Nomula Bhagath, a youth, defeated senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy in Nagarjunasagar. Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav addressing the press conference in Huzurabad on Wednesday.
Rajender is certainly not a bigger leader than Jana Reddy,” the Minister said to dispel opposition doubts about TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav’s victory in Huzurabad.
Speaking to the media after participating in a meeting of fisherfolk at the TRS party office here, the Minister challenged BJP leaders to convince the Union government to share 50 per cent of the cost of implementation of the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Telangana.
“BJP leaders, whose party is in power at the Centre, should seek votes from the people of Huzurabad only after sanctioning at least Rs 100 crore for the development of the constituency.
How can the party seek votes without outlining their development plan for the constituency?” he asked.
Pointing out that the State government had provided employment to jobless youths by filling 1.14 lakh vacancies, he said the government would issue a notification to fill another 60,000 to 70,000 vacant jobs in the coming two to three months period.
Referring to Rajender’s comments that he developed the Huzurabad constituency on all fronts, the Minister said the former may have done something when he was a Minister for seven-year in the TRS government. “What is so special about it? If he does something for Huzurabad after leaving the party, then that can be acknowledged,” he said.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had given importance to Rajender both in government as well as in the party. However, Rajender failed to utilise it. Instead, he tried to blame the ruling party and government, Srinivas Yadav said.
Injustice would be done to the people of Huzurabad if Rajender was elected in the by-poll. When he was Minister, Rajender used to escape by saying that nothing was there in his hands, if anybody approached him for work. Rajender would repeat similar words if he was elected in a by-election.
The Chief Minister was giving top priority to caste occupations especially Mudiraj and Gangaputra communities. About 46 lakh fisherman families were getting direct employment. The distribution of free fish seed, which started with Rs 22 crore, has reached Rs 93 crore.
Fisherman community people were accorded all powers on tanks, he informed and said the Chief Minister wanted to grow fish in the areas wherever the water was available. The main aim of Chandrashekhar Rao was to strengthen the rural economy. They would help for the development of Huzurabad if TRS candidate Srinivas Yadav was elected in by-poll, the Minister said.
Bandi denies claims over Dalit Bandhu suspension
State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday asked the ruling party leaders if they can prove that the Election Commission of India (ECI) suspended Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad only after the BJP wrote a letter to it.
Asking Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to come to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadadri, Sanjay said he would also come to the same temple and if anyone proves that the scheme was suspended only because the BJP wrote a letter, he would rub his nose on the floor as a mark of accepting the fault.
“If I prove that the scheme was suspended because of the ruling party, then the Chief Minister must tender his resignation,” he said, participating in a campaign meeting in poll-bound Huzurabad Assembly constituency.
Listing out funds allocated for the development of Saidabad village in Huzurabad, Sanjay demanded that the unemployment dole should be released at the earliest.
