Hyderabad: Tomato bath or upma udipi style is a flavourful and healthy breakfast recipe. A traditional and regular recipe in South India, it is also referred to as tomato upma and tastes tangy and super good.
Tomato bath is generally made with suji (semolina) and can also be made with rice. A must recipe on festivals, weddings and auspicious occasions as it is quick and easy to make and different from regular upma with the addition of tomatoes and veggies. This variant of upma can be relished for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. This can be eaten plain as it is made savoury, spicy and tangy or can be teamed up with some coconut chutney, gunpowder or pickle of our choice.
We can add a crunch to it when served with papads and some raita for a substantial meal. It really tastes awesome with the traditional tempering and takes the taste to a next level with a handful of crunchy fried cashews in it. A must-try recipe to relish and cherish.
