Warangal: With the online cricket betting on rise, the Task Force police are keeping a tight vigil on this illegal activity with the help of the informer network.
On receiving credible information, they have apprehended two persons at Kashibugga here under the limits of Inthezargunj police station limits on Sunday. They raided a den and caught the punters while indulging in IPL cricket betting through mobile ‘Dafabet App’.
“After completion of raids, the accused persons and seized amount of Rs 50,000 and two mobile phones have been handed over to Inthezarganj police for further legal action. The accused were Sai Vishal Thota of Kashibugga, and Botla Prabhu Kiran of Lothukunta, LB Nagar in Warangal,” said Additional DCP Vaibhav Raghunath Gaikwad.
Task Force Inspectors R Santhosh, Ch Srinivasji, and SI V Lavan Kumar took part in the raids.
