Two women end lives in separate incidents in Hyderabad
At Golconda, M Vaishali (34) hanged herself allegedly due to the harassment of her husband Ram Babu and in-laws and in another incident B Shravani (21) of Kachiguda set herself ablaze at her house
Hyderabad: Two women ended their lives allegedly due to the harassment of their in-laws for additional dowry, in the city.
At Golconda, M Vaishali (34) hanged herself allegedly due to the harassment of her husband Ram Babu and in-laws, the police said.
Vaishali was married to Ram Babu in December last year and her family members told the police that she was facing harassment and demands for additional dowry. Due to this, the woman slipped into depression and ended her life, the family complained. A case is registered by the Golconda police and investigation going on.
In the other case, B Shravani (21) of Kachiguda set herself ablaze at her house. Shravani was married to Ramulu in July 2020 and the couple lived at Barkatpura.
On Saturday evening, Shravani doused herself in kerosene and set herself ablaze. She died while undergoing treatment early on Sunday. The family members of the woman told the police that her husband and in-laws were demanding more gold.
They alleged Shravani ended her life due to the harassment by husband and in-laws for additional dowry. The Kachiguda police registered a case and are investigating.
