Medak: A large quantity of unexpired condom packets was found dumped in a yard in Medak town on Wednesday, raising concerns over alleged negligence by staff at the Government Hospital, Medak.

Locals found the packets in a dump yard and, upon examining them, found that the expiry date mentioned on the packets was June 2028. The staff at the Anti Retroviral Therapy (ART) Centre located within the Government Hospital, Medak, allegedly disposed of the packets along with biomedical waste through the vehicle that collects waste from the hospital every day.

Residents noticed the packets at the dump yard and captured photographs and videos, which were later posted on social media. The visuals highlighting the alleged negligence of health staff went viral. However, officials of the Health Department declined to comment on the incident. Citizens have demanded a probe into the matter.
