Hyderabad: A US-based non-profit organisation (NGO), Spirit of America, is delivering 43 oxygen concentrators to State-run primary and community health centres in Bhadradri, Khammam, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda and Suryapet districts of Telangana.
In support of the US Embassy, New Delhi, and in partnership with two global organisations including International Association of Human Values (IAHV) and American India Foundation (AIF), the Spirit of America is sending 320 oxygen concentrators in 28 districts across ten Indian States, a press release said.
The assistance is made possible through a personal donation from Fred Khosravi, chairman and CEO of Imperative Care, a medical device company. “As a company, we’re committed to creating immediate enhancements to patients’ lives. There’s an urgent need in India and we can build on this commitment by helping to meet those unmet needs of physicians and their patients,” Khosravi said.
The donation will enhance the ability of rural health centres to care for Covid patients as India prepares for a third wave of the coronavirus. “India is a key strategic partner of the US and we are eager to provide critical assistance and demonstrate our steadfast support to the people of India,” said Jim Hake, CEO of Spirit of America.
