‘Warangal Security Council’ to be constituted soon: CP Pramod Kumar

Warangal Urban: With a view to make Warangal Commissionerate a safe and secure place, the police plan to form a ‘Society for Warangal Security Council’ soon, Commissioner of Police (CP) P Pramod Kumar said here on Monday.
Speaking after inaugurating a total of 16 CCTV cameras set up at Gokul Nagar residential area under Subedari police station limits in Hanamkonda, the CP said that people from different walks of life including the traders would be made members of the ‘Society for Warangal Security Council’.
“The main aim of the Council is to keep a tab on crime in the city,” he said, and stressed the need for setting up more CCTV cameras help to check and detect crime. Pramod Kumar also appreciated the residents of the Gokul Nagar for their active participation in setting up the CCTV cameras. The Warangal police commissionerate authorities were aiming to install 25,000 CCTV cameras by the end of 2021. All the CCTV cameras will be integrated and monitored by the Command Control in the Commissionerate.
“A single CCTV camera is equivalent to hundred policemen, who use CCTV cameras to control crime and to identify and punish criminals based on CCTV footage. The police commissioner said criminals are afraid to commit crimes, especially in areas where CCTV cameras were set up,” Pramod Kumar added. Incharge DCP K Pushpa, Hanmakonda ACP M Jitender Reddy, Subedari Inspector Raghavendar, and colony residents attended the programme.
