Hyderabad: In a major twist in the Bengaluru Rapido rider assault case, newly emerged CCTV footage reveals a version of events that contradicts the earlier claims made by the woman passenger.
The footage shows the woman physically assaulting the Rapido rider first, following an argument between the two. This comes after the woman had initially alleged that she was attacked by the rider. Earlier videos recorded by bystanders—which went viral on social media—showed the rider hitting the woman after a verbal exchange in a public area.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday when the woman, a sales assistant at a jewellery store, was on her way to work.
Both the woman and the rider were reportedly taken to the Jayanagar police station following the altercation. The woman told the police that the rider was reckless, had jumped traffic signals, and that this behavior led to a confrontation which later turned violent.
However, the woman has not filed an official complaint as of now.
