Hyderabad: WhatsApp has rolled out significant updates to improve AI-powered interactions with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Initially limited to text-based queries, ChatGPT on WhatsApp now supports image and voice message inputs, making AI conversations more dynamic and accessible.
Enhanced AI Capabilities
With the latest update, users can upload images, which include memes and photographs, to ChatGPT, and then it will respond in text. The user can use this for information on what objects are, places, or even the meaning of viral memes. However, it can only comment on the image but not create one.
WhatsApp users can now send voice messages to ChatGPT, and it will be processed as text and replied upon. This feature is very helpful for those who are more into speaking than typing, especially in cases of multitasking or while traveling.
Account Sync and Deep Research Mode to be added later:
OpenAI has been teasing a few future features that would make it even easier to use ChatGPT on WhatsApp. One of the features might provide account sign-in functionality for syncing conversations coming from WhatsApp with the web or a mobile app version of ChatGPT. Another exciting feature is deep research mode: an in-depth, multi-step web search functionality.
Privacy Implications
While these updates significantly improve accessibility, users should exercise caution when sending sensitive images, as all inputs are processed on OpenAI’s servers.
