Basking in the success of her recent outing ‘Raja Raja Chora’, Megha Akash is having a fabulous run on the Telugu silver screen with back-to-back films up for release this season. The ‘Petta’ actor couldn’t ask for a better phase in her career as she says, “I am very much relieved with my last film. And yet I am a little nervous because of the immediate release of my film ‘Dear Megha’,” says the actor.
After getting to play the fun-loving character of Sanjana in ‘Raja Raja Chora’, she has turned more subtle and mellow for ‘Dear Megha’. “It’s a love triangle that is replete with myriad emotions of love. Not the regular “boy-falling-for-girl love”. ‘Dear Megha’ showcasses different shades of love and the unconditional side of it too,” she adds.
Throwing more light on the film, the actor says, “It has tragedy like any other love tale. Of course, personal loss of loved ones leaves a deep psychological scar. The character is partly similar to me. I am quieter outside, otherwise I love innocent and simple characters,” she adds. Megha had a great experience working with co-star Adith who is a family friend for many years. “He has been my mother’s friend for the past many years. We jointly worked for an ad commercial in Chennai. Thus we get to know each other well. It was easy for us to bring the emotions well before the screen”
Challenging role
The actor says she was a little scared to play the female character as it was heavy and quite challenging. It’s a huge responsibility on the shoulders to carry it. “I was very scared. I want to try different things and I want to see. This really touched me because I like romantic movies, portraying different emotions. The film has so many sweet romantic songs that everybody can relate to. Personally, love is a necessity because to be a better person in our lives, we have to share love. Love is necessary because it pushes you to be the best version of yourself,” she adds.
Unplanned career
Although she started with a lot of planning before walking into the bright lights of showbizz, Megha realised that her career didn’t go as planned accordingly. “The reason I chose to be an actor was to be a different person. I get to play different roles, be somebody who I am not. Initially, I tried to be at what comforts me. My view has changed later and made me realise that it never goes according to plan,” she laughs. The actor has a couple of more movies coming up in Telugu alone — ‘Gurthunda Seethakalam’ and ‘Manu Charitra’.
