Woman arrested in Secunderabad for smuggling ganja on train
The Government Railway Police, Secunderabad, arrested a woman for smuggling 3 kg of ganja from Odisha to Hyderabad. She was lured by an accomplice, Gopal Singh, who paid her Rs 5,000 per trip. Police are searching for the absconding accused
The woman, G Saraswathi, a native of Nanded and a resident of Dabilpur in Hyderabad, took the ganja from an unknown person in Berhampur in Odisha, and carried it to Hyderabad by train.
“Saraswathi was lured into transporting ganja by one Gopal Singh of Hyderabad, and she was paid Rs 5,000 per trip. On Wednesday, when she arrived from Berhampur in Vishaka Express, the police caught her at Secunderabad,” GRP DSP SN Jaweed said.
A case has been registered against Saraswathi and Gopal Singh. Efforts are on to nab Gopal, who is absconding.
