Nizamabad: Women in our country are setting new records and achievements in various fields, said Nizamabad Collector C Narayana Reddy. He was speaking at the International Women’s Day celebrations held at Rajiv Gandhi auditorium in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector lauded the services extended by women during Covid pandemic. “Doctors, ANMs, ASHA workers, Anganwadi teachers and others went the extra mile to serve the society. When State registered first Covid-19 case, ASHA workers conduct a survey and identified the covid victims,” he added.
“Nowadays, women are giving tough competition to men and it is a good sign. In ZP Meeting and other meetings too, women public representatives are highlighting their plights and making their voices heard,” the Collector further said.
Nizamabad Mayor D Neethu Kiran, municipal commissioner Jeethesh V Patil, Women’s commission member Sudam Lakshmi, consumer forum President Gujja Rajeshwari, ZP vice-chairperson Rajitha Yadav, Armoor municipal chairperson Vinetha, GGH superintendent Prathima Raj, ICDS PD Jhansi Lakshmi participated.
