Hyderabad: Woxsen University Students Group, headed by Deepshika Yadugiri along with the faculty members, Shahnaz Rahman, Sangeet Varma and Veena Sharma, initiated a very interesting programme of empowering village women and girl students at Devuni Narmetta – the model Village in Siddhipet district.
Around 40 students participated in this programme spreading awareness among the people there on rural women healthcare, importance on fitness and sports, and career growth for young girls, and for farmers, new trends in artisans’ crafts show with which they can improve their economic growth and standard of living.
Speaking on this occasion, Deepshika said that they have done research on empowerment of rural women and girls, and will associate with the village, along with Suchirindia Foundation which adopted Narmetta village for overall development.
Women empowerment groups and students of Kasthurba School and villagers participated in this day-long event along with the village sarpanch Aziz and others.
