Man drowns in water-filled pit in Medchal
According to police, the incident happened when K Mahesh (21) went to work on an agricultural field. While the reason for his presence near the pit remains unclear, it is suspected that he accidentally slipped and fell into the water, resulting in his death.
Hyderabad: A man who was working in an agricultural field drowned in a water filled pit in Medchal on the city outskirts on Thursday.
Police said the incident occurred when K Mahesh (21) went to work in the agricultural land. Though it is not clear why he went to the pit, Mahesh is suspected to have accidentally slipped and fallen into the water and died.
Alerted by the local villagers, the Medchal police reached the spot and with the help of swimmers, began searching for him. After about an hour, Mahesh’s body was retrieved from the pit.
Case is being investigated. The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.
