21 cows killed in lightning strike in Mulugu district

Twenty-one cows were killed after being struck by lightning in Ankampalli village of Mulugu district late Friday night. In a separate incident in Lingala village, a bull died due to electrocution.

Mulugu: As many as 21 cows died as they were struck by lightning at Ankampalli village in Tadvai mandal of the district.

According to sources, a farmer, Mankidi Sammaiah, tethered the cows in his field near the house in the village. They died as a lightning bolt struck them while it was raining heavily late Friday night.


In another incident at Lingala village in the mandal, a bull belonging to another farmer died due to electrocution. The affected farmers appealed to the government for assistance, stating that they had suffered severe financial losses due to the death of the cattle.
