80 quintals PDS rice seized in raids at Peddapalli, Mancherial
Police in Peddapalli and Mancherial districts seized 80 quintals of rice meant for the public distribution system in two separate raids on Saturday night. Task force teams arrested three persons after recovering rice valued at over Rs 2.25 lakh from Godavarikhani and Naspur.
Peddapalli/Mancherial: In two different incidents, police seized 80 quintals of rice meant for the public distribution system (PDS) on Saturday night.
In the first case, task force and narcotic squads conducted raids in Santosh Nagar in Godavarikhani and seized 50 quintals of rice stored illegally. The seized rice is valued at approximately Rs 2.25 lakh. Two persons were arrested and handed over to the Godavarikhani police.
In the second instance, the teams seized 30 quintals of rice during a raid in Umamaheshwari Colony in Naspur. Battula Sammaiah was arrested and handed over to the Naspur police.
