Hyderabad: With the announcement of intermediate second-year results by the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TS BIE), students will be gearing up for higher studies. Candidates wishing to make a career in the conventional degree courses can opt for the same through the Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) 2021.
The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) recently released the DOST notification for admissions into all undergraduate courses such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCom (Vocational), BCom (Hons), BSW, BBA, BBM, BCA etc., offered by colleges affiliated to the Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Palamuru University and Satavahana University for the academic year 2021-22.
Students can register for admissions either through the Aadhaar linked mobile number, T-App Folio or at MeeSeva Centres. The candidates whose Aadhaar number is linked with their mobile number can directly register on the DOST website https://dost.cgg.gov.in/ with mobile OTP authentication. If a student’s Aadhaar number is not seeded with a mobile number, such candidates can link his/her parent’s mobile number to their Aadhaar at Aadhaar update centres. Likewise, the registration besides biometric authentication can also be done at the MeeSeva Centres across the State.
Another way to register for the DOST is through the T- App Folio mobile application.
Under this process, students should install the T-App Folio on their smartphone to generate DOST ID. After downloading, candidates should seed their intermediate hall ticket number issued by the TS BIE, date of birth, Aadhaar and mobile number. These details will be verified on the app and on successful authentication of live photograph (selfie) with photograph available in the TS BIE service, a DOST reference ID is generated which will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number over SMS. Further process of registration and exercise of web options can be done on the DOST web portal.
After registration on the web portal, students receive a DOST ID and pin that is to be kept confidential till the end of the admission process. Using the ID and pin/password students can open the application form, and fill the same.
The TSCHE has constituted 105 helpline centres across the State to help students with registration besides rectifying any mismatch with Aadhaar details and any wrong uploading of certificates.
To resolve issues of students during the admission process, an online grievance system has been made available on the DOST website. Also, a WhatsApp chatbot with number 7901002200 has been integrated with the DOST where candidates can get information. For any updates, students can log on to DOST 2021 Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/dost.telangana or https://twitter.com/dost_telangana. Candidates can watch videos on the DOST YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/dost_telangana for admission procedure and FAQs.
