Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday said he would request Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to sanction another 1,000 2BHK houses for Siddipet in addition to the 2,460 houses already constructed, when the latter visits Siddipet town on December 10.

In a heart-warming gesture, the Minister presented new clothes to the beneficiaries of the double bedroom houses after handing over-allotment certificates to them.

Addressing the beneficiaries at Vipanchi Auditorium here, Harish Rao said that the 144 beneficiaries who were given certificates today will celebrate the housewarming ceremony on December 10.

Stating that 1,341 beneficiaries had been selected for the houses constructed at Narsapur double bedroom housing colony, he said the remaining will be handed over the houses in a phased manner.

Stating that he wanted to build a house for each and every homeless, Harish Rao said the government will build an additional 1,000 houses once the 2,460 houses are handed over. He said the government would also sanction funds for people who wish to build houses on their own lands.

“I am indeed blessed to get a chance to provide housing to people who had remained homeless for decades,” Harish Rao said.
