Applications invited for Chevening Scholarship
Covering nearly 12,000 courses from more than 150 universities in the United Kingdom, Chevening Scholarship offers full financial support for one year to candidates applying for a master’s degree

Hyderabad: Aspiring scholars, who are planning to study for a one-year master’s degree in British universities, can now apply for the UK Government’s prestigious Chevening Scholarship programme for 2022-23. Covering nearly 12,000 courses from more than 150 universities in the United Kingdom, Chevening Scholarship offers full financial support for one year to candidates applying for a master’s degree.
Dr Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, said, “Chevening offers a unique and incredible opportunity for the future leaders of India to study at some of the world’s best universities in the UK, fully funded by the British Government. I encourage ambitious young leaders and mid-career professionals already in leadership positions to utilise this opportunity to access world-class learning and a global exposure.”
Applicants to Chevening Scholarships must have a minimum two years of work experience and a strong academic background, and can apply for any course of their choice. The deadline to apply is November 2.
Four Chevening alumni present in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s current council of ministers are — Piyush Goyal (Commerce and Industry), Gajendra Shekhawat (Jal Shakti), Anupriya Patel (Commerce and Industry), and Devusinh Chauhan (Communications). Several other prominent names, including Amitabh Kant (CEO, Niti Aayog), T.V. Narendran (Global CEO and MD, Tata Steel), Girija Vaidyanathan (Expert member, National Green Tribunal) and Jayesh Ranjan (Principal Secretary-IT and Industries, Government of Telangana) are also recipients of the prestigious scholarship.
