Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) RM Dobriyal said the tiger that had allegedly killed a female farm laborer and attacked a farmer in Kagaznagar division recently was identified.
Addressing the media after a three-day tour to the district on Sunday, Dobriyal said a male tiger aged between 4 and 5 years had killed Morle Lakshmi at Easgaon village in Kagazangar mandal before attacking a farmer, Rauthu Suresh at Dubbagudem village in Sirpur (T) mandal the next day. He disclosed that images of the tiger were recorded on CCTV camera traps installed in the forests of Sirpur (T).
A tiger corridor was being planned in Kagaznagar forests to ensure smooth passage of tigers from Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve of Maharashtra to Kawal Tiger Reserve, he said, adding that the tiger corridor would play a vital role in providing passage for the tigers migrating from Maharashtra to Telangana in search of territory and partners for mating.
Dobriyal also said measures to convert Kagaznagar division into a tiger corridor would be discussed with the modalities being prepared. Steps would be taken to prevent loss of both humans and tigers, he said.
KTR Field Director Shantharam, District Forest Officer Neeraj Kumar Tebriwal, FDOs Vinay Kumar Sahu and Forest Range Officers were present.
