Tensions rise over night restrictions in Kawal Tiger Reserve, toll collection, hut demolitions. Political intervention adds fuel, with forest staff claiming they’re enforcing law amid growing criticism
A team of forest officials visited Kenya and Tanzania without taking permission from the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF) RM Dobriyal
The officials said 22 huts, which were allegedly put up illegally by tribals, were demolished as they were built in the core of the Kawal Tiger Reserve
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) RM Dobriyal said the tiger that had allegedly killed a female farm laborer and attacked a farmer in Kagaznagar division recently was identified.
He warned that if the government failed to take action against the forest officials involved in the incident by November 4, he would launch agitation against the officials at the Sirpur Kagaznagar division office.
