BC leaders from BRS issue ultimatum to State govt
At a meeting held in Telangana Bhavan, they served an ultimatum to the State government to respond positively on the twin demands before November 10 or face direct action.

Hyderabad: BRS leaders and elected representatives from backward classes on Saturday demanded the State government to spell out its stand on the demand for caste census and 42 per cent BC reservations in the local body elections. At a meeting held in Telangana Bhavan, they served an ultimatum to the State government to respond positively on the twin demands before November 10 or face direct action. They also demanded that the BC sub plan be considered for implementation well within the statutory framework as promised to the BCs in the Kamareddy declaration by the ruling party. The meeting decided to study the benefits extended to the BCs in Tamil Nadu and Kerala by the respective state governments and submit a report to the State government pressing for the implementation of the same. The meeting also decided to take recourse to direct action if the government failed to respond positively to the demands.
Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council and former Speaker S Madhusudhanachari, Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Raj, Rajya Sabha member Vadiraju Ravichandra were present. Former minister Srinivas Goud, former Rajya Sabha members Badugu Lingaya Yadav, former MLAs Bollam Mallaiah Yadav, Jajala Surender, Nomula Bhagat, MLC Shambhipur Raju, Dasoju Shravan Kumar, former MLC Karne Prabhakar were also among those who took part.
