Kothagudem: Bhadrachalam town police have filed an FIR against the owners of an under-construction building that collapsed in the town on Wednesday leaving two dead.
According to police, a case was booked under Section 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of BNS against Srinivas Sripathi (Shaik Moulana) and Srinivas Swathi.
It might be noted that Punem Pradeep Kumar of Human Rights Conservation Council of India lodged a complaint with the district panchayat officer in July 2024 against illegal construction of the building at Super Bazaar centre near gram panchayat office in the town.
He said that 30 years ago a six-room house was constructed and it was converted into a temple. Later, Sripathi started constructing the building on the foundations of the old house without any permission from the gram panchayat by collecting donations through Sripathi Seva Trust.
