Hyderabad: Bhai Dooj, also known as Bhai Tika, was celebrated by the students of grade III and IV of Delhi Public School, Nacharam, on November 8. Children learnt the concept of Bhai Dooj with excitement.
To inculcate cultural ethics in the kids, a greeting card activity was held. Students were involved during this event and celebrated with a lot of love and happiness.
They made colourful greeting cards in which they expressed their love, affection, and gratitude towards their siblings. Children understood that this festival is commonly known as mini Rakhi and is celebrated mostly by North Indians, where sisters feed sweets to their brothers and tie a red thread — a band which is said to be a kind of protection from negative forces. Kids were also explained that sisters buy gifts for their brothers and surprise them and in return brothers promise to stand by her side whenever needed and protect them from every problem.
The simple thought of caring and sharing was portrayed as the festival of Bhai Dooj was celebrated in the school.
