Bhatti Vikramarka hails SCCL accident insurance as model for India
The scheme was introduced to ensure financial security for the families of workers in the event of unforeseen accidents and prevent them from falling into distress.

Peddapalli: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Rs. 1.20 crore accident insurance scheme being implemented in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) was a model for the nation. It was not only a model for public sector undertakings but also for all states across the country.
The Deputy CM made these comments while handing over an accident insurance cheque worth Rs. 1.20 crore to the family of a deceased Singareni employee at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The scheme was introduced to ensure financial security for the families of workers in the event of unforeseen accidents and prevent them from falling into distress, he said and assured that compassionate appointment papers would be provided soon to the deceased worker’s family.
As part of the free accident insurance scheme being implemented in Singareni, SCCL handed over the cheque to Latha, the wife of the deceased worker Pendri Ranjith Kumar.
Ranjith Kumar, who used to work as a support man in the Ramagundam-1 area of Singareni, recently passed away in a road accident. He had a salary account in the State Bank of India.
Following the nomination made by the deceased, an insurance amount of Rs. 1.20 crore has been paid to his wife, Latha, under the accident insurance scheme.
Principal Secretary of the Energy Department Naveen Mittal, Singareni CMD N. Balaram, REDCO Vice Chairperson & MD Aneela, SBI DGM Neelakshi Singh, Regional Manager Suresh Kumar, Executive Director (Coal Movement) SDM Subhani and other officials participated in the programme.
