Birth anniversary of Prof Jayashankar celebrated on grand scale in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: The the 87th birth anniversary of Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar was celebrated on grand scale in the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Friday. Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, other public representatives, political leaders, government officials and others paid tributes to Jayashankar by garlanding his statues and portraits across the district.
While BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar paid tributes to Jayashankar by garlanding his statue at Madina chowk in Karimnagar, SC Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar participated in birthday celebrations held in Jammikunta. Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar advised the youth to go ahead by following the ideology of Jayashankar who strove hard to achieve a separate Telangana State. Jayashanker sacrificed his entire life for the separate State agitation.
In order to fulfill the aspirations of Jayashankar, the State government was taking steps for comprehensive development of all sections of the society. Karimnagar Mayor, Y Sunil Rao, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, Collector RV Karnan, Municipal Commissioner Valluru Kranthi and others participated in the programme. On the other hand, District Collectors RV Karnan (Karimnagar), D Krishna Bhaskar (Rajanna-Sircilla), G Ravi (Jagtial) and Survey Sangeetha (Peddapalli) paid tributes to Jayashankar by garlanding his portraits and statues in their respective districts.
