Hyderabad: BJP MLAs have lodged a complaint with Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for intimidating and threatening Jubilee Hills voters, alleging that several welfare schemes would be withdrawn if they failed to vote for Congress.
BJP Floor Leader A Maheswar Reddy and Deputy Floor Leader Payal Shankar submitted a representation to the CEO on Saturday. They urged him to take immediate and strict action against the Chief Minister under relevant provisions of the Model Code of Conduct and applicable laws. The BJP MLAs also requested the CEO to bar the Chief Minister from further campaigning in the Jubilee Hills constituency.
Additionally, the BJP also complained against the Chief Minister’s comments on the Pakistan attack. Stating that Revanth Reddy’s remarks were highly objectionable and inflammatory, the BJP leaders said such statements undermine the valour and sacrifices of India’s soldiers.
“They were also an attempt to demoralise the nation for political gain,” they alleged.
