Hyderabad: Senior BRS leaders visited the residence of Sai Eshwar Chary at Beerappa Nagar in Jagadgirigutta and offered tributes to the young BC activist who ended his life citing the Congress party’s deception on Backward Classes reservations.
BRS Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, senior leaders Shubhapradh Patel, Dudimetla Balraj Yadav and others paid floral tributes to Eshwar Chary’s portrait, observed two minutes’ silence and expressed deep anguish over his tragic death.
The leaders alleged that Congress leaders had repeatedly promised 42 percent reservation for BCs in local body elections, education, employment and livelihood sectors both before and after the Assembly elections, but miserably failed to fulfill the assurance.
They pointed out that the Congress government allotted only 17 percent reservation in the panchayat elections, causing extreme agony to activists like Eshwar Chary who ultimately took the extreme step. Describing Eshwar Chary as a martyr for the BC cause, Ravichandra and other leaders conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
The delegation consoled Eshwar Chary’s mother Prameela, brother Nandeeshwar, wife Kavita, daughters Kritika and Sai Chitti, and son Sai Datta. They assured the family of support from the BRS and its leadership.
