Hyderabad: BRSLP deputy floor leader T Harish Rao came down heavily on the Congress government over the SIT notices issued to the party working president KT Rama Rao. He said the move was driven by political vendetta and aimed at diverting attention from the alleged coal scam.
He asserted that the BRS would continue to expose alleged scams and press the government to implement its six guarantees and 420 promises, irrespective of harassment through cases and notices.
Speaking to media persons in Siddipet, Harish Rao said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had resorted to a notice drama as he lacked the courage to answer questions over the alleged involvement of his brother-in-law in the Singareni coal scam, which had become a national topic.
He stated that the notices issued to him and Rama Rao were part of a deliberate attempt to deflect scrutiny from administrative failures and a series of scams.
“Vendetta is the weapon of the weak. A strong leader fights through people’s movements,” he remarked, accusing the Chief Minister of misusing the police to target the opposition. He asserted that BRS leaders were prepared to face any inquiry but warned that the Congress would have to answer for its actions in the people’s court.
Several senior BRS leaders, including former ministers S Niranjan Reddy, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Vemula Prashanth Reddy, MPs, MLCs, and MLAs, condemned the notices, terming them an undemocratic attempt to silence the opposition.
