Hyderabad: Launching a blistering attack on AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge who is in Telangana, BRS leaders accused him of being a rubber stamp who resurfaces only during elections, while ignoring the State’s pressing issues the rest of the time. They lashed out at him for making no efforts to rein in the Congress government in the State and ensure that the party’s election promises are implemented.
Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan, BRS leader Errolla Srinivas said Kharge had proved himself fit to be the president of the ‘dokebaaz Congress,’ by betraying Telangana’s unemployed, SCs, farmers, and handloom workers. He pointed out that none of the electoral promises made to the unemployed youth and other sections of the society have been implemented in Telangana under the Congress regime.
“The SC Declaration that the AICC president released in Chevella lies in the dust. Not a single promise has been honoured,” he said, calling Kharge’s visit an election stunt. He ridiculed the Congress slogan “Jai Bhim, Jai Bapu, Jai Samvidhan” as empty rhetoric and slammed the Gandhi family for cheating Telangana voters by making grand promises during the Assembly elections and then never showing their face in the State after the polls.
BRS leader K Vasudeva Reddy accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of arresting protesting unemployed youth, to cover up his failure to release job calendar and fill two lakh government jobs. “If 60,000 jobs were given, why are the jobless still on the streets?” he asked.
Another leader Balaraju Yadav said Godse has entered Gandhi Bhavan in the form of Revanth Reddy, while Kharge remains a mute spectator to the State’s suffering. They questioned the silence of intellectuals and leaders like M Kodandaram who campaigned for the Congress during the elections.
