Karimnagar: Campaigning for the Graduates and Teachers MLC constituency elections came to an end at 4 pm on Tuesday, 48 hours before the polling scheduled for February 27.
As the campaign ended, contestant candidates are consulting voters, leaders of teachers’ unions, caste organisations and others over phone and requesting them to cast their votes in his or her favour.
On the other hand, officials are making arrangements for polling in 15 districts. While 56 candidates are in fray for the graduates constituency, there are 15 aspirants for the teachers segment.
A total of 680 polling stations have been established in the erstwhile Medak, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts. While 406 polling stations are earmarked for graduates, 181 are for teachers.
There are 93 common polling stations set up in these districts, while there 19 polling stations in Hanamkonda (9) and Jayashankar (10).
While 3.55 lakh people have registered their names for the graduates constituency, there are 27,000 for the teachers segment.
