Hyderabad: The Congress government’s upcoming caste survey, scheduled to begin on November 6, threatens to impact the National Achievement Survey (NAS) examination, slated for December 4.
Nearly 40,000 educators, including 36,559 Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs) and 3,414 school headmasters working in 18,241 government primary schools, have been tasked with conducting the caste survey.
For this, the State government announced half-day school schedule (9 am to 1 pm) for three weeks. This decision, coming at a critical juncture, could significantly impact the academic preparedness of Class-III students for the NAS exam.
Primary schools typically operate from 9 am to 4 pm, and the reduction in the instructional time has come at a time when Class-III students are gearing up for the NAS exam, which is a triennial national assessment test to evaluate the learning levels of students in Classes III, VI, and IX.
Moreover, the half-day schools have been notified at a time when teachers have just started to settle down in their academic calendar.
