Hyderabad: The 10th edition of Model United Nations (MUN) of the CBIT was inaugurated here on Friday. The conference was being held in an online capacity for the first time since its inception in 2011. Former BJP national general secretary, Ram Madhav and Phoenix Group director, Srikanth Badiga took part in the inaugural session as the chief guests.
A three-day simulation, with a prize pool of Rs 1 lakh has five international and Indian committees aimed at instilling values of diplomacy, leadership and developing skills like public speaking, teamwork and critical thinking whilst learning about international relations, according to a press release.
The CBITMUN promotes fruitful deliberations on issues relevant to the current world scenario. The committees simulated include the United Nations Security Council, UN General Assembly – DISEC, UN Human Rights Council, a Joint Crisis Committee and All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), along with an International Press roster, it said adding that the three-day event would conclude on Sunday.
