Ceiling collapse: Sangareddy Collector suspends CDPO, anganwadi teacher

Directs Women and Child Welfare Department officer to check all the anganwadi centre buildings thoroughly

Sangareddy: Hours after six children were injured in a roof collapse incident, Sangareddy Collector Valluru Kranthi suspended Venkatapur Anganwadi teacher R Ambika and CDPO N Sujatha holding them responsible for the incident.

The Collector directed the Women and Child Welfare Department officer Vasanthakumari to check all the anganwadi centre buildings thoroughly to avoid any such untoward incidents in the future.

Kranthi asked them to shift the children to safer buildings if any other buildings were located nearby. She further instructed her that the anganwadi centre buildings must be checked every month without fail.
