Hyderabad: Cutting across the party lines, the Central and State governments would strive for the development of Hyderabad in all fronts, said the Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy here on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons after District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting, Reddy said the Central and State governments would always work for the welfare of the people.
During the meeting, he reviewed the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail project and the second phase of Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) along with other key projects in the city.
He said the Centre has allocated over Rs.1,400 crore for the metro rail project and as per the agreement and project report it was supposed to be constructed till old city. However, it was restricted to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) near Afzalgunj.
“We will discuss in detail about the metro rail and MMTS project during the next daylong meeting,” he said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was allocating sufficient funds for the development of the city.
Reddy urged the State government to allocate land for construction of tribal museum since the Centre has already allocated Rs.1 crore. He explained that the Centre was contributing to the Basthi Dawakhanas, KCR kits and construction of houses for the poor people.
Reddy said the Centre was giving Rs.2 lakh for construction of each house. To a question on why Modi’s photograph was not seen on various schemes, he replied that the Central government officials should look into it and the BJP should fight on it.
