Centre says 10.18 Crore farmer IDs issued across India

The Agriculture Ministry informed the Rajya Sabha that over 10.18 crore Farmer IDs have been created nationwide to streamline subsidy transfers, crop insurance, MSP procurement, credit access and disaster relief. Uttar Pradesh accounts for the highest number with over 2.43 crore IDs

New Delhi: The Agriculture Ministry on Friday said that more than 10.18 crore Farmer IDs have been created so far, a move that will help in streamlining the direct transfer of subsidies and providing disaster relief.

In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Agriculture Ramnath Thakur said, “As of 20th July, 2026, more than 10.18 crore Farmer IDs have been created to streamline the direct transfer of subsidies and technical advisories.” States are using Farmer IDs to ease the lives of farmers, he added.


“It enables the integration of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes such as registrations under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna (PM Kisan), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), Minimum Support Price (MSP) based procurement, access to credit delivery, input distribution, and disaster relief,” Thakur said. In Uttar Pradesh, over 2.43 crore farmer IDs have been created, the data showed.
