The station has been developed on par with international standards at a cost of Rs 413 crore.
Also, the Ramachandrapuram – Ghatkesar MMTS train timings have been modified to suit the passengers travelling to Charlapalli in the evening hours.
Railway authorities have already approached the State government to provide better connectivity for enhanced passenger movement at Charlapalli railway station. It has requested to widen the connecting roads from FCI warehouse side and also lay a new road through adjacent open lands of TSIIC.
Similarly, it was requested to widen the existing road (Mahalaxmi Nagar colony road) to help passengers coming from northern parts.
“Issues regarding connecting roads and transport services have been extensively discussed in the recent coordination meeting held with state government officials, followed by joint inspection with the GHMC officials and district administration,” SCR officials said adding that the civic authorities were requested to take up road work at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has provided bus connectivity to the new facility. A total of 146 regular bus services from Secunderabad and other locations to the Charlapalli station and from the Habsiguda and Uppal metro stations to Charlapalli are being operated.
