Hyderabad: The Maharashtra Police have intensified their investigation into the Cherlapalli drug case, as investigations revealed that Mephedrone manufactured in Hyderabad was being smuggled on a large scale to Maharashtra. Investigators are now probing the drug trail and network angles.
So far, a total of 12 people have been arrested.
According to police, two men identified as Faizal and Mustafa had travelled from Mumbai to Hyderabad several times to procure the drugs. Mustafa already faces multiple criminal cases in Maharashtra, while Faizal reportedly acted as a mediator in the illegal trade.
Officials said more crucial details are expected to emerge once the arrested suspects are taken into custody for questioning.
Meanwhile, teams from the Prohibition and Excise Department, Narcotics Bureau, and Police Control Board (PCB) have conducted joint inspections at Vagdevi Laboratories in Cherlapalli.
Authorities stated that necessary action will be taken after gathering complete information.
