Cold wave to persist in Telangana for two more days: IMD

The IMD-Hyderabad forecasted that cold wave conditions will persist across several districts of Telangana for the next two days, with minimum temperatures dipping 3°C to 4°C below normal. Districts including Adilabad, Warangal, Siddipet, and Medak are expected to experience severe chill.

Hyderabad: Cold wave conditions in multiple districts of Telangana are expected to continue for two more days, India Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad in its forecast on Friday evening said.

“Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 3 degree C to 4 degree C, at isolated pockets during the next 2 days over Telangana. Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy districts of Telangana,” IMD-Hyderabad in its forecast said.

Minimum temperatures in the rest of the districts in the State are expected to range between 11 degree C and 15 degree C, the IMD five-day forecast indicated.

Meanwhile, independent weather forecasters in Hyderabad, active on multiple social media platforms, have indicated that people in the State will experience severe cold in the coming 48-hours.

“Dear people of Telangana including Hyderabad city, next 2 nights, morning will be severely cold with widespread single digits ahead in the entire Telangana. It’s going to be a massive chill, please stay alert. Prepare your night and morning travel accordingly. A few parts in Hyderabad will witness 6 to 8 degree Celsius while North and Western parts of Telangana will witness 5 to 8 degree C,” T Balaji (Telanganaweatherman), on Friday posted on X.
